Eau de Cologne Imp?riale was the first Eau de Cologne created by Pierre-Fran?ois-Pascal Guerlain in 1853. It was written specifically for Napoleon III?s wife, Empress Eug?nie, and earned its author the title ?Perfumer to His Majesty.? Before giving her permission for it to be sold, the Empress had exclusive usage of the fragrance.Its label features the Empire?s coat of arms, which Napoleon chose: the eagle, the imperial crown, and the sceptre.Its bottle features a 69-bee constellation, a symbol of the Empire and the Guerlain family of ?Eaux.? It can be customized, hand-gilded, and embossed with initials upon request.
